Bridging the Emotional Gap: Discipleship-Based Church Planting for Thriving Teams

The planting eco-system is a high emotional environment. In my view we often miss the significance of this reality. In my book “The Genius in the Kingdom: How Discipleship Impacts Church Planting” I write:

“In my view, the coach and support personnel need to develop eyes for the real emotional and cultural distance between the planting leader and the team. The greater this distance the more likely it is that the greater weight of demand and potential stress, will fall on the planting leader and this is not desirable.
The closer the distance, suggests that there is a synergy in place and as a result, there will be less strain on the planting leader and a greater buy-in among the team because they will be operating in their giftedness more regularly.”

In effect, this is another argument for discipleship-based planting. Lord give us the eyes to see what is really going on in our new churches.

The book is now available on paperback and Kindle from Amazon.
