Evangelism and Disciple-making

Planters can be strategic and that’s to be encouraged. But there’s a level of instinctiveness that is needed too. In my book “The Genius in the Kingdom: How Discipleship Impacts Church Planting” I write:

“If, at the level of instinct, a planting leader can discern and pivot to the hopes and dreams of those around them, that leader will be able to network more effectively and to develop the right language for making connections with those around them about the gospel. I have mentioned before that the disposition of a new church and its leaders does a lot to ensure the effectiveness of a church, especially in the first 18 months or so. In this period in the life of a new church if a planting leader is effective in sensing how those around them are, then this allows the planting leader to give the right lead to the new church. This I believe, is one way to create momentum relationally in a way that will build the number of opportunities for evangelism and disciple-making. In my view, this kind of instinct is a prophetic one.”

I think one thing we could do for planting is to pray that they will be filled with Spirit fuelled instincts about Australians and what they are thinking and feeling.

The book is now available on paperback and Kindle from Amazon.
