Being of the Kingdom

The message we must be consistent on relates to the core ideas about discipleship. In my book “The Genius in the Kingdom: How Discipleship Impacts Church Planting” I write:

“Someone who is being discipled is being formed to Jesus and not the Church. So, we are to help each new disciple, in every aspect of their lives to focus on a daily submission to Jesus and prioritise their surrendered obedience, because this is the requirement of those who are called to be kingdom people. We remind them too that we who follow Jesus are kingdom people who love the church and not the other way around. We keep saying that we are called to live in such a way that those around us may be able to see the evidence of the Kingdom of God on earth.”

Our lifestyle will help us make the right posture in the hearts and minds of our fellow Australians. But it has to be distinctive about the One to whom we are apprenticed. That is the learning curve that is before us right now.

The book is now available on paperback and Kindle from Amazon.
