The preference for courses to define the scope of a discipleship process is based, I think, on a preference for order and a simple life! But we are discovering the true nature and scope of discipleship in these days. In my book “The Genius in the Kingdom: How Discipleship Impacts Church Planting” I write:
“One clear conviction that I have about discipleship is that it is like raising children, sometimes chaotic and messy and unpredictable and at other times glorious and rewarding. And, just as we understand that about raising children, we must also understand it about making disciples. So, all those being catalysts in the process of discipleship need to embrace that and seek the work of the Holy Spirit, constantly allowing Him to do what is His purpose in His own time. Trusting Him to lead the process. We must remember that discipleship is not a nice, neat process that takes you from walking your own life to walking the way of Jesus, but instead, it is a journey that confronts us on every level about who is Lord. We must learn to take a long view of this process.”
Let’s set our heart to apprentice our nation to the Master Builder. The book is available in paperback and kindle from Amazon.
